Dear ISG Jubail Community,
As we only have five instructional weeks remaining in school, we are busy planning our end-of-year activities. The biggest event of the year’s end is always graduation. This year our graduation ceremony will once again be a virtual celebration. It will take place on the 27th of May. Please be on the lookout for more information about graduation and our other end-of-year activities. In the coming weeks, you will also begin receiving announcements about resource return opportunities from different parts of the school.
This week, I would like to highlight an incredible program developed by our students that touches on both the innovation and compassionate action themes in our mission. That program is the student organized Peer Listening Service. This service is an anonymous, confidential*, and non-judgmental peer listening service for students, run by students, via Zoom.
This service project was initiated by high school students Zain N. and Muhammad T. It grew out of a need they identified during their leadership training in the global Compassion Summit. Leila B. later joined their team and became one of the Peer Listeners. This service complements existing school support mechanisms and provides a listening ear to MSHS students who are under stress during these unusual times.
The service runs every Tuesday from 4:00 to 5:30pm.
For more information, please contact the Peer Listeners at email@example.com and keep an eye out for their weekly emails and reminders.
Have a great week ahead.
