This message is for parents who will have students attending Pre K, KG1 or KG2 classes this school year. The school usually has a ‘meet and greet’ day prior to the start of school for children attending Pre K, KG1 and KG2. However, due to many families still being absent until after the Eid holiday, this will occur on Monday 27th August, with the 28th August being the first day of school for those attending Pre K, KG1 and KG2 only. All other grade levels will start their first day of school on 27th August.
The ‘meet and greet’ session for Pre K, KG1 and KG2 students will run from 11:30 to 13:30 and gives you an opportunity to bring your child into school and allow them to visit the classroom, meet their new teacher, show the children where their drawers and bag space is (as well as give any additional relevant information) and allow you to get connected with our online communication platform. You are also welcome to talk to any other parents present should you wish. As this is a drop in session between 11:30 to 13:30, you can pop in with your child anytime between these hours to meet and greet for a short while, explore and get your child comfortable. Throughout the whole of the ‘meet and greet’ session parents should stay with their child before returning home together.
When visiting your child’s new Homeroom teacher, you will also be given a sign-up sheet for our communication platform in the Elementary school, Class Dojo. For those with smartphones, please ensure that you have downloaded the app already prior to coming in, so your child can be added in during the ‘meet and greet’ session.
We look forward to the new school year ahead and transitioning your child into their new classroom.
